It is hard to believe that a year ago, Eamon and I were in Paris celebrating 5 years together. This year we went a little bit more low-key with the celebrations. However, they were no less fun! This year, we wanted to focus on enjoying London and doing something luxurious in the city. We ended up booking a spa day at the Marylebone Hotel.
We started off with a cooling plunge in their ozone-treated swimming pool. The pool is great for a quick dip or you can use the lanes if you are looking to use the pool for a workout.
The Third Space spa was our next stop. Despite being in the basement of the Marylebone hotel, the spa has a well-lit waiting room and comfortable seating. With cosy rooms and luxurious interiors, one starts to instantly feel pampered. The massage bed was so comfortable too! I am one of those people that need a very hard handed masseuse, so you can imagine my delight when I got just that. My full body massage was a great mix of relaxation and deep-tissue massage that left me feeling like I definitely got my money’s worth. My masseuse was aware of my needs from our pre-massage consultation and I left feeling extremely relaxed.
After our amazing massages, we took a turn in the aromatherapy-infused steam room. The smell was amazing and really left me feeling completely refreshed. It was the perfect upliftment for exhausted muscles.
Our last stop was the 108 Pantry for their Classic Afternoon tea. 108 Pantry offers a range of ethically sourced teas. I happily noticed that they also stock Rooibos tea. It is always great having a taste of home! In addition to their great teas, the Afternoon Tea comes with an array of delicious snacks. Light and fluffy scones, savoury treasures and beautiful sweet treats to finish it off. My favourite was the Black Truffle Sausage roll.
In conclusion, we are so happy with the experience and would gladly go back again!
- Look out for Pamper day packages on Spabreaks.com
- Arrive early and make full use of the facilities before your treatment in the spa
- Ask for more treats at the tea if you want them, we didn’t and regretted it!
